Grant Guidelines 

The Anchor Fund has the sole discretion to make exceptions based on information supplied.

Contacting The Anchor Fund

  • Initial contact first made through case manager either by submitting a grant request or calling Executive Director

  • Grant requests should be made through our website and include:

    • Detailed summary of survivor’s story and critical financial need

    • Current employment, other income, and dependents details

    • Payment information including address, check payable name, and acceptable forms of payment

    • Explanation as to other avenues pursued before contacting The Anchor Fund

Grants

  • Only given consideration to clients who are referred by case managers from partner organizations

  • Not to exceed $1000

  • No cash is given, only payments are made directly to 3rd parties

  • Shelters, safe houses, DC Crime Victims, Virginia Williams, programs, friends, and family need to considered first

  • Security deposits will be returned to The Anchor Fund from management company not to client

We have provided grants for a wide range of critical needs to survivors including but not limited to:

  • HOUSING
    -rent
    -security deposits
    -application fees
    -grocery cards
    -temporary housing

  • UTILITIES
    -cell phones
    -telephone, electric, gas, and water bills

  • TRANSPORTATION
    -Metro cards
    -Uber trips
